WWE Extreme Rules 2022 Predictions

WWE is back with its annual Extreme Rules Premium Live Event (PLE). And this time, it’s extreme. It’s been a while since every match on the show has an extreme stipulation. Which makes the show extra compelling. There are six matches scheduled for Extreme Rules and only two of the matches are title matches. I can’t wait for Extreme Rules, and I’ve got predictions for each match.

Edge vs Finn Bálor

I Quit Match

Predicted Winner: Finn Bálor

For the last few weeks, Judgement Day has been presented as the top heel faction on WWE Raw. It would be tragic to stop their momentum with a Finn Bálor lost. Especially, losing in an I Quit match. I’m guessing since this match is an I Quit match, Edge will say I Quit and will not be returning to WWE TV for a bit. There is a chance that the White Rabbit will play a role in this match, but I think the White Rabbit is headed to SmackDown.

Drew McIntyre vs Karrion Kross

Strap Match

Predicted Winner: Karrion Kross

Here is how I see this match going down. Karrion Kross beats Drew McIntyre with an assist from the White Rabbit (whoever that may be). With WWE announcing the White Rabbit’s debut at Extreme Rules, makes everyone wonder just how and when would the White Rabbit debut at Extreme Rules. This could potentially lead to a Drew McIntyre vs White Rabbit match. Bonus: Baron Corbin is the White Rabbit.

The Brawling Brutes vs Imperium

Six-man Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook Match

Predicted Winner: Imperium

Probably the coolest match on the Extreme Rules card. The Brawling Brutes vs Imperium has produced banger after banger after banger after banger. (You get the idea!) The storytelling has been excellent and it was a smart idea to reunite Giovanni Vinci with Imperium to re-establish the trio. Either one of these teams could/should win this match. I’m predicting Imperium to pick up the win due to the champion’s advantage.

Matt Riddle vs Seth “Freakin” Rollins

Fight Pit Match with Daniel Cormier as the special guest referee

Predicted Winner: Matt Riddle

From a logical perspective, this match should be easy to predict due to Matt Riddle’s Fight Pit and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) experience. This will be Riddle’s second time entering the WWE Fight Pit. In 2020, Riddle faced Timothy Thatcher in a Fight Pit match with Kurt Angle as the special guest referee. Before becoming a professional wrestler, Riddle participated in several MMA bouts. For those reasons, Riddle should defeat Seth Rollins.

Liv Morgan (c) vs Ronda Rousey

Extreme Rules Match for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship

Predicted Winner: Ronda Rousey

Another tough match to predict because I think the end game for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship is Charlotte Flair winning the title. But I think Ronda Rousey will defeat the current champion, Liv Morgan. We’ll get Rousey vs Flair in the near future.

Bianca Belair (c) vs Bayley

Ladder Match for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship

Predicted Winner: Bayley

Once again, Bianca Belair makes history, as she takes on Bayley in a ladder match. Not just any ladder match. But the first-ever singles ladder match to feature women from either the Raw or SmackDown brand. As much as I love Belair, I will say that Bayley needs the win more. If WWE wants to establish Damage CTRL as the top female heel faction, every member must hold a championship. This method of storytelling has worked wonders for NXT’s Toxic Attraction, and I think it will work in Damage CTRL’s favor. Also, Belair is now an established WWE Superstar. There is no arguing about that. Losing in a ladder match (where the numbers game will more than likely play a role) shouldn’t hurt her superstar status too much.

I think WWE Extreme Rules will be a great show with one major surprise (White Rabbit) and amazing wrestling action. I do predict that both champions will lose, so we can expect new women’s champions.

Who do you predict to win at this year’s Extreme Rules?
