Quick Impact Wrestling Thoughts:

It’s the Year-End show so it’s mostly highlights, giving out their fan-voted Year-End awards with some storyline advancement to the January Hard To Kill pay-per-view on January 8.

Rich Swann, Chris Sabin, and Moose vs Kenny Omega and the Good Brothers

Match highlights started with the 2021 Hard To Kill main event of World champion Rich Swann, Chris Sabin and Moose vs AEW champion Kenny Omega and Impact World tag champs the Good Brothers, the match that really started the “They’re going to crown Moose” movement.

Jordynne Grace takes on Chris Sabin as a coach going into the first Knockouts Ultimate X match. The fool really needed to see her do pull-ups. She showed him. Funny segment.

The Good Brothers Win Tag Team of the Year

The Good Brothers won Tag Team of the Year, gave a good acceptance speech.

Rich Swann vs Kenny Omega

Match Highlight #2 was AEW champion Omega winning the Impact World title from Swann.

Deonna Purrazzo (with Drama King Matt) gave a strong promo on her now Texas Death Match (what’s more commonly known now as the Last Man/Woman Standing match) for the KO World title against Mickie James at Hard to Kill.

Josh Alexander Wins the X Division Championship

Highlight #3 was Josh Alexander’s X Division title win over Ace Austin (c) and TJ Perkins at Rebellion. This set off a major run for Alexander that ended with his winning the world title and a MAJOR moment with Moose.

X Division champ Trey Miguel demanded and got a match with Steve Maclin at HTK. This has been a pretty good feud.

Violent By Design and the Good Brothers are allied and will face Rich Swann, Willie Mack, Rhino, HEATH, and Eddie Edwards at HTK in a Hardcore War.

Jordynne Grace Wins the Digital Media Championship

Highlight #4 is Grace’s winning the Digital Media Championship over Fallah Bahh, Chelsea Green, John Skyler, Madison Rayne, and Crazzy Steve at Bound For Glory.

Deonna Purrazzo Wins KO of the Year

Purrazzo wins KO of the Year and delivers her second strong promo of the night. She’s now won two years in a row and her second of the night as she won KO Match of the Year for her BFG match with James.

A good introductory video on Masha Slamovich.

Josh Alexander and Moose Wins the IMPACT World Championship

The final clip was Alexander winning the world title from Christian Cage at BFG and Moose calling his shot and beating Alexander in front of his family, the hottest heel moment in the company all year and the hottest across the industry this fall.

Heels are feasting on these Year End awards. It should be noted that of the KO Match of the Year candidates, every match including either Purrazzo or Tasha Steelz, who is my pick to win the Ultimate X.

Next week is Year End episode two with the Men’s Wrestler of the Year, KO Tag Team of the Year, and X Division Wrestler of the Year announced.
